W301 is a workshop course in fiction writing, which focuses on the art of the short story. We will read a selection of fiction from writers considered masters of the form. We will analyze, critique and discuss this work, and then we will do the same with your work, in a focused and deliberate way. Along the way we will consider the creative process, our working habits, and revision, the most important element in the production of completed stories.
